Woodland & Meadow

Garden

The whole left side of the garden is dominated by the woodland and the front left corner is planted as a white woodland garden with ferns and hostas and snowdrops. The left path leads up the garden past the autumn woodland border, filled with crocosmia, persicaria and small acer trees.

In the upper section of the gadren the path continues and leads into the old woodland path that, in the spring is a sea of snowdrops and then bluebells in the dappled light.

Beyond the iron railings the woodland continues as a narrow strip up the side of the meadow.

A grass path continues up the field on the line of the steps and bridge in the garden and around the old chestnut tree that dominates the field. This left part of the field is planted with wild flowers. In the spring it fills with daffodils and in the summer it becomes a sea of poppies.
